Stratton's most notable attraction is certainly Stratton Mountain, a top ski and snowboard resort as well as a summer getaway. Stratton has something for every visitor - skiers, snowboarders, or those simply wanting to get away to enjoy Vermont's beautiful landscape. Recreational trails abound in this year-round wonderland. Spring, Summer, and Fall hikers can explore Vermont's own Long Trail, Stratton Pond Trail, the fire tower trail, and the Appalachian Trail.
There is fine fishing in the tributaries of Grout Pond and Somerset Reservoir, Cross Country skiers can enjoy their own Catamount Trail designed specifically for cross country skiing, extending from the Massachusetts border to Canada. Many VAST trails are present for the snowmobile lovers in Stratton as well. Grout Pond is easily accessible for hiking, kayaking, swimming, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and camping -- some sites have lean-tos, tent platforms, and barbecuing facilities.
The town also has a Recreation Center including soccer and baseball fields, a basketball court that gets turned into a skating rink in the winter, sledding hill, and playground.
